We Indians love our poha (or beaten rice pilaf). It can be prepared very easily and is highly nutritious as a lot of veggies can be added to it. In different states of India, poha is made in different ways and is a staple breakfast item in many households. It is both hearty and light at the same time, and amazingly satisfying for morning breakfast.
North India is the Indore way. In Indore, poha is cooked with lightly frying mustard seeds, tumeric, chili powder, finely chopped onions and then moistened poha is added to the spicy mix and steamed for a few minutes.
