If we are talking about revenues then dominos, mc'd, pizza hut, kfc, has more than 50% of the revenues in indian qsr market. but in india we can still compare some indian street food with pizza and burgers. We think stand-alone restaurants make better food, there’s more care taken and food isn’t prepared for sale and just kept lying around. At least there’s an illusion that the food is freshly cooked.

Golgappa / Pani Puri
When anyone are talking about indian street food, no one can forget about this, yes definitely we are talking about Pani Puri.(many people are also called Golgappa). It consists of a round hollow puri, fried crisp and filled with a mixture of flavored water ("pani"), tamarind chutney, chili, chaat masala, potato, onion and chickpeas.There are also some various types of pani puri available in India.
Dahi vada is prepared by soaking vadas in thick dahi. The hot deep fried vadas are first put in water and then transferred to thick beaten yogurt. Dahi vada is also known as dahi bhalla in Punjabi, thayir vadai in Tamil, thayir vada in Malayalam, perugu vada in Telugu, mosaru vade in Kannada. dahi vadas are a craze at home and i do make them at times as the they require some prep work to be done before hand… like making both the spicy green coriander chutney and sweet tamarind chutney, preparing the vadas etc.
Samosa is a fried or baked pastry with a savoury filling, such as spiced potatoes, onions, peas, lentils, and/or minced meat. Pine nuts can also be added. Indian snack which has an crisp outer layer made of maida and rich filling of mashed potato, peas and spices. Samosa prepared with this recipe also has a mild lingering taste of chilli, ginger, coriander and cumin seed which makes it simply irresistible.
This is traditionally sold on the streets of gujarati towns. It is another version of vada pav made with a sweet and spicy potato mixture which is filled into a small burger bun and then topped with onion, pomegranate, fresh garlic chutney and sev. It is a spicy snack made by mixing boiled potatoes with a dabeli masala, and putting the mixture between pav (burger bun) and served with chutneys made from tamarind, date, garlic, red chilies, etc. and garnished with pomegranate and roasted peanuts.
Bhel puri (or bhel poori, bhelpuri) is no doubt the most common chaat on the streets of Mumbai alongside the popular. Bhelpuri is a savoury Indian snack, and is also a type of chaat. It is made out of puffed rice, vegetables and a tangy tamarind sauce. Almost every street has its own friendly bhelwala with his inimitable blends of chutneys and masalas. Bhel is a delectable combination of papadis, puffed rice, sev, onions, potatoes, raw mango and chutneys.
